Starting 15 May 2024, AWA’s branches will now open at 10am every Wednesday as we prepare for the transition from AWA to Beyond Bank. This adjustment allows our staff to undergo essential training, ensuring continued excellence in service for our members. Thankyou for your understanding during this transition period.

Up to $55,000 in Government grants for Home Builders

Homeowners now have the chance to supercharge the building of their new home or renovations with the Federal Government's HomeBuilder initiative. Under the Scheme, eligible borrowers will also be able to access additional assistance in conjunction with other government programs, state and territory First Home-Owner Grants and stamp duty concessions. These programs are designed to stimulate the residential construction sector in response to the economic impact of COVID-19.

On top of all this, AWA is offering First Home Buyers a discounted interest rate and up to $4,000 worth of extras to bridge the housing affordability gap. Our package, which launched six months ago, has already helped many locals reach their goal of owning a home.

In Victoria, first-home buyers can access at least $35,000, and up to $45,000 if they're building a new home in a regional area. They also don't pay stamp duty on property under $600,000, with discounted stamp duty applying on property between $600,000 and $750,000.

In Western Australia, the state government announced it would spot home buyers a bonus $20,000 for new residential builds on top of the $25,000 already offered by the HomeBuilder scheme. For first-home buyers, that takes the total to $55,000.

For those who have managed to maintain employment during COVID-19, there has possibly never been a better time to build a home.

If you or someone you know wants to own their first home sooner and maximise the Government Grants on offer contact AWA on 1300 056 953 or email .
